Introduction: Guy and Frances live in Collex. He is an economist, formerly in the ILO, now Professor at Bath University. Frances is the Geneva correspondent of the Financial Times. We have two unruly ponds, which drive Frances to distraction, Guy to strong drink.

Will you tell any friends interested in ponds about us too? Membership and meetings are all free.: I spotted your advert in Eau Nature. Of course, we will tell fellow sufferers to join.

Given the impending World Cup, the score is Algae 96, Standing 0.....and I am lucky to score 0.
Would you like to get some goldfish or aquatic plants from Suzanne and Peter for your own pond? Do you have any fish or plants you'd like to offer to other members?: We could offer small carp. We would welcome cress and any plants if anybody has surplus.
If you already have a pond, how would you describe its size and appearance? What kind of plants and fish inhabit the pond? If you don't yet have a pond, would you like to learn how to create one? Can you offer (or do you need) any pond equipment?: We have, for our pains, two ponds. Frances is inclined to murmur in her sleep that this is two ponds too many. Guy has recently enlarged both ponds, to the chagrin of the aforementioned Frances but to the delight of the growing koi. Vegetation is dense around the upper pond next to the house. Plants are being resurrected in the lower pond. Both are now about five metres by 2.5 metres.
In what town near Geneva do you live? Can you host one of our informal get-togethers there? Simple snacks and beverages are all we expect, but if you want to make our get-together a bigger party, should we all bring a dish to share?: Collex. We are planning to host the July 2006 meeting of club members. Bring sympathy backed by knowing smiles, knowing that problems shared are not necessarily problems solved.
