- Introduction:
- "I'm Jackie Miller, an avid gardener and nature lover who moved from Brooklyn to Crissier 30 years ago. My first goldfish pond was constructed in concrete, but when it began leaking it was replaced with a much larger pond lined with EPDM butyl rubber."
- Would you like to get some goldfish or aquatic plants from Suzanne and Peter for your own pond? Do you have any fish or plants you'd like to offer to other members?
- "I'll accept goldfish from any club members, as long as they accept an equal number of fish from me. In that way we'll all benefit by introducing new blood, and our breeding stocks won't become inbred. Exchanging plants is also a great idea, to increase the biodiversity in each pond. Club meetings could include discussions of other pond inhabitants besides fish."
- How did you learn about our Geneva Area Pond Club? Please specify the web site or bulletin board location or person from whom you learned about us. Will you tell any friends interested in ponds about us too? Membership and meetings are all free.

- If you already have a pond, how would you describe its size and appearance? What kind of plants and fish inhabit the pond? If you don't yet have a pond, would you like to learn how to create one? Can you offer (or do you need) any pond equipment?
- "My pond is roughly circular, averaging five to six meters in diameter. The entire perimeter was constructed with two planting shelves designed as steps into the pond. The outer shelf is 30 cm deep, the inner shelf is 60 cm deep, and the pond bottom is 90 cm deep. (There's also a depression in the middle that's one meter deep, to simplify pumping out all the water if it's ever necessary.) The three different levels were chosen to accommodate the planting tubs of the aquatic plants that require water of different depths. I have too many varieties of plants to list here."
- In what town near Geneva do you live? Can you host one of our informal get-togethers there? Simple snacks and beverages are all we expect, but if you want to make our get-together a bigger party, should we all bring a dish to share?
- "Crissier is a small town between Geneva and Nyon. There's room in my house and garden to accommodate about a dozen members at club meetings. I couldn't feed that many people a full meal, so if they want more than snacks they'll have to bring their own food to pass around for a potluck."

Geneva Area Turtle and Tortoise Society
"A bright and friendly collection of animal-lovers has been brought together to share their experiences and expertise. Learning how to take care of turtles and tortoises from knowledgeable local fanciers is much more enjoyable than reading about them in books. I recommend joining this club to anyone interested in these wonderful reptiles."

Geneva Area Pond Club
"Club members that we met ranged in age from their 20s to their 80s, but all seem to have a youthful attitude, eager both to learn and to pass on information about this fascinating hobby."
